Artist statement
I’m leaning toward an exploration of duality between imagination and reality, and I use an eclectic collision of references to express the memory of many of my early visual impressions.
I often feel like my work is the embodiment of a teenager's disordered imagination filtered through my technical skills.
My Inspirations are diverse: the energy in 90’s television commercials, Saturday morning cartoons, Rambo, Ninjas, Super Heroes, symbols found in the imagery of the occult, clowns, and geometric forms.
We are in a world bombarded by images and media. I want my work to have its own unique character that combines the aesthetics of the past, and the energy of the present. Ironically, Through this chaos, I am aiming to slow down the attention of the viewer. I want someone to think an extra second before describing my work to someone.
